Outcomes on real corridors

The challenge

One of the region's busiest corridors needed dynamic speed control that answered to the transport authority's existing central ITS platform rather than operating as a separate island.

What we deployed

Supply, installation, testing and commissioning of 30 variable speed control sign systems along Sheikh Zayed Road, integrated with the authority's central ITS software.

The outcome

Completed December 2025.

The challenge

Behavioural offences inside the vehicle had to be detected across very different road types — high-speed multi-lane highways, urban intersections and bridge crossings — each needing a different mounting position and field of view.

What we deployed

80 systems engineered for flexible deployment: gantry installations for highways and high-speed corridors giving wide-lane, high-accuracy detection; roadside units for urban roads and intersections; and bridge installations for a broader field of view across multiple lanes.

The challenge

Enforcement coverage was required across an entire emirate's road network — highways, urban corridors and junctions — under one programme rather than as isolated installations, with automatic number-plate recognition and hazard detection built in from the start.

What we deployed

Supply, installation, testing and commissioning of 883 intelligent speed enforcement radars covering both speed and red-light violations, each with an ANPR system and a safety-hazard system, deployed across the emirate.

The outcome

Completed November 2024 and running under a seven-year maintenance agreement.

The challenge

Fixed enforcement was needed at scale, paired with variable message signage so the same corridors could both enforce limits and inform drivers.

What we deployed

Supply, installation, handover, maintenance and support of 212 fixed speed enforcement systems with ANPR, together with 20 variable-message ITS totems.

The outcome

Completed May 2023 and running under a seven-year maintenance agreement.

The challenge

The emirate's entire installed base of red-light enforcement radars had reached end of life and needed replacing — not supplementing — without leaving junctions unenforced during the transition.

What we deployed

Supply, installation, handover, maintenance and support of 564 fixed red-light enforcement systems with ANPR, replacing all previously installed red-light radars across the emirate.

Completed April 2023 and running under a seven-year maintenance agreement.

The challenge

Posted speed limits needed to change with conditions across the network, rather than remaining fixed regardless of weather, congestion or incidents.

What we deployed

Supply, installation, handover, maintenance and support of 270 variable speed control sign systems.

The outcome

Completed March 2023.

The challenge

Two distinct risks needed addressing on the same programme: vehicles entering exits and chevron areas the wrong way, and vehicles failing to give way to pedestrians at crossings — the second requiring a system that can tell a pedestrian from a vehicle reliably enough to support a penalty.

What we deployed

Supply, installation, testing and commissioning of 80 combined speed, EXIT-I and PEDI-SAFE systems. EXIT-I records wrong-way violations automatically with photo and video evidence suitable for enforcement and legal proceedings. PEDI-SAFE uses sensors and computer vision to detect pedestrians at crossings and flag vehicles that fail to yield, distinguishing pedestrians from vehicles.

The outcome

Completed February 2023.

The challenge

Drivers needed warning of hazards — low visibility, congestion, collisions and road works — at locations spread across the road network, including sites with no mains electricity available.

What we deployed

Deployment of 3,000 solar-powered emergency warning units with blue, red, amber and white strobe lighting, triggered either remotely from the control room or automatically in response to detected conditions.

The outcome

Completed November 2022.

The challenge

A national roads authority needed continuous traffic data — volume, classification and vehicle weight — across its network, together with the communications and cabinet infrastructure to carry that data back to a central asset management system.

What we deployed

Technical assistance and civil engineering for the asset management system: 25 loop-based traffic counting and classification systems, 5 weigh-in-motion systems using loop and piezoelectric sensors, 26 GPRS VPN wireless communication links, and 25 outstation cabinets — supplied, installed, tested and commissioned.

The outcome

Started January 2012 and completed January 2022, including a nine-year maintenance term — a decade of continuous operation on one contract.

The challenge

National crisis management required a way to reach the public directly and immediately across an entire emirate, operating over a secure network rather than public telecommunications, and integrating with the crisis management systems already in service.

What we deployed

Supply, installation, testing, commissioning, operation and maintenance of 2,000 public warning units deployed across mosques in the emirate. The system carries live and pre-recorded announcements over the secure police TETRA network, and works both standalone and through Common Alerting Protocol integration with existing crisis management systems.

The outcome

2,000 units deployed between 2019 and 2020. Operations and maintenance have run continuously since 2019 — over seven years to date.

The challenge

High-speed corridors needed more than enforcement at a point: traffic information had to be gathered and relayed back to drivers on the same structure, including in the low-visibility conditions that make Gulf highways dangerous.

What we deployed

Delivery of 24 speed enforcement smart towers and gantries. Each gantry integrates several systems on one structure — variable signage, fog detection and analytics cameras — gathering traffic information and relaying it to motorists.
