Drivers see a gantry as a place where signs live. For the authority operating it, the sign is the smallest part of what the structure is doing.
One structure, several systems
Alliance's smart gantries are engineered to accommodate generators, Variable Message Signs, uninterruptible power supplies, radar systems, cameras and fog sensors. Consolidating them onto a single foundation is what makes the economics work — one civil installation, one access point, one maintenance visit.
Weather as a data problem
Fog, sand and storm conditions are where corridors fail catastrophically. Fog detection secures data on environmental conditions and drives the warning before drivers enter the affected section — the difference between a slowdown and a pile-up.
From alert to action
Alerts are consolidated through the Security Centre, with a Logic & Workflow Engine driving the incident response. The engineering intent is that an operator is choosing between prepared responses rather than assembling one under pressure.
The structure is designed with cultural aesthetic considerations, because infrastructure that a city dislikes is infrastructure a city eventually removes.
